The Sherwood Band program gives roughly 70 performances annually including ensemble concerts, marching band competitions, solo & ensemble recitals and community parades. Every event requires Booster support to help things run smoothly. If every band parent contributes a modest effort, we can have a successful year! Please find the areas you can contribute and sign up. It's fun!
SMB UNIFORM FITTING DAY (Aug 15, 2020): All students participating in Marching Band need to come to SHS to get sized for their uniform. Volunteers are needed to make this happen and you can pick the time that works best for you at VOLUNTEER SIGN UP.
BAND DAY (TBD 2020): Groups of students perform throughout the Sherwood community to raise money on one Saturday in the Fall. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of year and is also a great way to connect with our community. All high school band students are required to participate. Parents are needed to chaperone and transport students. Find more detailed information at BAND DAY.
SHERWOOD MARCHING BAND (Sept & Oct): The SMB performs at Friday night home football games and at competitions on Saturdays. Boosters are needed to feed students, manage props/equipment, maintain uniforms, transportation, and more! Click 2020 SMB SEASON for more information on competitions and SMB VOLUNTEERS to sign-up for a shift.
FALL SHOWCASE (Oct): In the fall of 2019, Sherwood hosted their first annual marching band competition at Linfield College. This event was planned and organized by the Alumni Association, and staffed by alumni and Boosters. More information will be found at FALL SHOWCASE when details are available.
WINTER PROGRAMS (Feb & Mar): The Winter Percussion, Winter Guard and Winter Winds ensembles compete in Feb and Mar. Just like the fall season, Boosters are needed to feed students, manage props/equipment, maintain uniforms, transportation, and more! Click 2020 WINTER PROGRAMS for more information.
SHERWOOD WINTER SHOWCASE (Mar): SHS hosts a Winter Competition for Percussion, Guard and Winds each year. There are a myriad of jobs to pull this event off. More details can be found at SHERWOOD WINTER SHOWCASE and a volunteer sign-up will be available when we get closer.
SWINGIN' THE GREEN (May): This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we encourage everyone to join us for this fun event at The Oregon Golf Club. Students in the middle and high school Jazz Bands play throughout the evening while guests enjoy a plated dinner, auction and activities. More information will be provided during the school year at SWINGIN' THE GREEN.
